The Poynter Institute is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, and your gift helps us make good journalism better. Jim Romenesko. From to , Jim Romenesko maintained the Romenesko page for the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based non-profit school for journalists.

Poynter hired him in August…. November 12, Al Tompkins. Kayla Steinberg. What does it mean? In one she says, " growing up in a small town , I learned that people are the stories. In another, clips from Burnett's various travels are shown as if she's spent her entire career at CNN.

A brief cutaway has her exclaiming into her cellphone, " I'm going to be in Dubai! In it, she broadcasts her infamous " Occupy Wall Street: Seriously? In a fundamental misreading of the importance of the protest movement, Burnett shows a series of videos focusing on the wackiest protesters and claims they don't understand basic facts such as that banks payed back more TARP money than they were given in the bailout:.

The reaction in the media is negative. The Baltimore Sun calls her " smug " and "superficial. The elusive thing that you want at a network is individual things that stand out that are consistent with what the brand is. Yet, there needs to be a consistency too. CNN was the place that you turned to when there was news, period. It was not the place you went when there was not news. I do think that has changed.

What do you attribute the stability of the show to? There are a variety of things, but a big one is my team. I think that makes a difference. At this point, should we anticipate seeing you contribute to the streaming service in some way?

Yes, I think so. I think all of us will be involved in some way. It is an opportunity to flex or grow another set of muscles.

I got engaged two weeks before my launch party.
