I was immediately deeply moved to tears, especially with the current trend of social distancing in mind.. I listen now to it daily with others. Singing along brings even more tears. The fact that HE, Louis, is able to sing that song so genuinely is impressive, adding to an already brilliantly written composition.
The more I weep fully and aloud with friends, the clearer I can think about what is going on and this takes me out of a worrying sympathetic neurological state into a present, peaceful parasympathetic action mode of operation. I feel healthier and function better. Thank you for posting this history, I will share this, too! It does not matter how many people try to sing this song, it does not work for them, this song was for Louis only.

I enjoyed watching the Ken Burns documentary on Jazz and would love to see a modern movie made on Mr. Recently actor Tracey Morgan has been in the news following that horrific accident. Upon seeing a photo posted with an update on his status, it struck me that he very much favors the Great Satchmo, and might be a great fit to play the part.
